Things to Avoid to Rank High on Google

An effective website design not only is appealing to the eyes but also to the search engines. This is a list of the most common mistakes that web designers make and why they should be avoided at all cost.
Using tables for the layout
Use divs for layout, not tables. Tables add a lot of unnecessary code to your pages and search engines don’t like them.
Using frames
Don’t ever use frames. Google and Yahoo hate them. It’s a horrible way to structure a website.
Putting text inside images
Search engines can’t read the text inside a picture. You need content to rank high on the search engines and that means plain text.
Making the whole website in Flash
Flash is great for animations and some headers. But when your website is 100% Flash, there is no text for the search engines to read!
Not doing a basic optimization
All the content on a website needs to be optimized for the search engines. Put your keywords in the title, meta keywords tag, meta description tag, alt tags, and H1 and H2 tags. Get a sitemap that links to all the pages on your website. And never stop adding quality content.

Is Link Building Making Blog Spam?

For getting good traffic people do link building. Some times it makes Blog Spam. So, we should have some minimum Knowledge about Link Building. Quality of links is more important than quantity. I don't think there is any rule about exactly how many links one can have coming into one's site. If you are concerned about search engine rules, the thing to keep in mind is whether your incoming links are relevant to your site's theme or not. For example, if your site highlights your experience in teching, get links from teching institutes. Links from sites selling T-Shirts or other are not going to be good and could possibly get you penalized. Be careful to avoid sites which have no content, only links to other sites. These are generally sites built on a domain name related to some type of business. If the owner of the domain name doesn't have any content about the basic concept of Blog and doesn't intend to put any up and just want to sell links to businesses. Google considers such sites spam and allegedly deletes them from its index, although I've found quite a few of them on Google searches. But they're definitely something to avoid. You'd need to seek them out and give them money to list your site so you don't have to worry about being listed in one without your knowledge or consent. You can find out who's linking to your site by going to a Google search page and typing in link:yourdomainname. Don't use www, just the domain name and extension, eg., .com or .org. You can do the same search in other engines but I can't remember which ones have that feature.

Minor Things : Should Do For A Better Traffic

Many people dont consider these things while improving their traffic.
These are small but Great
Find out which websites link to your competitors. And get them to link to you, as well. Join an Affiliate program. But make sure you choose a good one.
Win awards for your website. There are plenty of reputable award sites like webbyawards.com or webaward.org.
Article submission. Submit articles to websites like Ezine Articles or Goarticles. Just Contribute quality, relevant content and send it in.
Write reviews. On sites like Amazon or ePinions.
Become an authority. It is most likely you already are an authority in your business, so answer questions on Yahoo Answers and post your content everywhere.
Post in classifieds sites, like Craigslist and USFreeAds.
Create a Squidoo lens. Advertise one or all of your websites on Squidoo.com.
Submit guides to Work.com. The nifty thing about this one is that if your guides are approved, you can include as many followed links as you want.
Write an article for Wikipedia. Although you may not be able to directly link to your website, include links to other pages that link to yours.
Exchange links. Link to other blogs/websites from yours, but which provide relevant content, and ask them to kindly reciprocate.
Use your forum signature. Please leave your name, message and link! There are lists of directories that allow signature links.
Find websites that mention your company or products but don’t provide the direct HTML link. Simply send them a friendly email and request the link.
These things will definitely help you

Freelancing: Tough i think

Most of the web designers use freelance sites to post a project and some work as freelancers to do some extra money. I have used some of the sites that deal with freelance projects and I have found that is very difficult to get a project. This is a tough market these days and you have to be at your best to stand in the competition. Recently, I came across a new youhaveaproject.com which has interesting projects to work on. You can find or post a project for free and there is no much competition. I am familiar with a number of the freelance sites There are too few jobs for too many people. CrowdSpring is the new site it seems, judging from the publicity they've been getting...http://www.crowdspring.com/%0http:/www.forbes.com/forbes/2009/0216/062.html There are also sites like eLance.com and Guru.com, but what I do like from CrowdSpring is the fact that they actually secure payment from the client ahead of time. If the client gets more than 25 proposals, he has to choose and award the payment! If he simply goes missing, CrowdSpring's panelist chooses a winner and award the designer accordingly. If there is not enough submissions (less than 25 entries), then the client gets his money back. But thats a huge huge difference from other site, and definitely makes encourages me to propose a design! Please note however, that I haven't been using any of these sites much. I used to do work on eLance, but had some bad experiences that led me to quitting the online freelance work. I have to admit however, that I'm very very intrigued by CrowdSpring's business model, and fully intend to try it out when I manage to get some free time. I remember eLance having a subscription fee, which was a major point in me withdrawing from the services eventually. I decided to check and register with CrowdSpring, wanting to compare their price differences. Guess what? CrowdSpring has none! Looking around for hidden costs.. I'll find it somewhere.

Affiliate Programs : A Way To Earn Money

Affiliate Programs is a way to earn money. New internet peole dont know this. But its a great opportunity to make money and I truly believe that you can make Extra income on several Affiliate programs offered today. I do not believe you can make 1000 a day doing nothing ( as many saying ). Another thing to understand is the relationship between your success with the program and your knowledge of the product. You can take a great product and Fail--because you do not have the Passion or Knowledge of the Product to Promote It properly. I suggest you determine a product that you have a great interest in, find any programs related to that. By doing so--you already have the benefit of being able to promote your product to customers while gaining their confidence in you ( because you are an Authority on the subject ).

Link Building : A Nice Technique To Get Traffic

Be very careful with link building in general building links too quickly will get you no where. Make sure they are from reputable sites with relevant content. Also make sure that the anchor text pointing back to your site is in line with the keyword set that you are choosing to optimize for.
Most business owners start marketing their site on the net with Google or yahoo's pay per click program. After some time they realize that they are just burning through their marketing budget in no time. What they don't realize is that they have a money making machine in their own site they just need to unlock it.
90% of all web sites can be optimized and an increase of traffic and sales will occur. When a web site is completely optimized traffic and sales can increase up to 6 times. So before you waste your time, look at a good SEO firm to help you on your way to success.

Pay Per Click Secrets

Although Google and Yahoo claim that managing a Pay per Click campaign is easy, we strongly disagree. Sure, opening an account, choosing some keywords, and setting up a budget is a piece of cake. But making more money than the campaign is costing you is a real challenge.
This article will provide you with a great insight on some advanced techniques that we use for our own clients. Three out of five people that start a Pay per Click campaign lose money and every single one of our clients makes money; so we must be doing something right. Pay attention and get ready for the most useful article you will ever read on PPC campaign management.
Concentrate on the Segments of the Market that You Can ServeMake sure that you are very specific about how you can solve a need. For example, one of our clients is an English school in Denver. They offer accent reduction courses for foreign executives that want to sound more American. When they were managing their own campaign they were losing a lot of money going after the keyword “accent reduction”. The reason was that people wanted to get rid of their accents in a lot of different ways (cassettes, CDs, computer software, teleseminars, and one-on-one phone consultations) but our client offers classes on the subject. We did three things about it: we started using keywords like “accent reduction class” instead of just “accent reduction”, we changed the ad to something like “Accent Reduction Class in Denver, CO”, and we used negative keywords (software, phone, book, CD, cassette, etc.) to filter out unqualified prospects.
Create a Landing Page for Each of Your Top KeywordsFigure out what keywords get you most of the traffic. If you have 1,000 keywords in your campaign, chances are that 10 of them are getting 90% of the traffic. Create a landing page for each one of them. Driving all your PPC traffic to your home page is probably the most common mistakes that people make.
Use Long-Tail Keywords A long-tail keyword is the opposite of a general keyword. For example, “cars” is a broad keyword and “2002 Honda Accord” is a long-tail keyword. A specific term doesn’t have as many searches as broad terms but it will cost you a lot less and will bring you much more qualified prospects. Someone searching for “cars” is not very likely to become a paying customer any time soon. But someone searching for “buy 2002 Honda Accord in Chicago” is.
Use Locations, Brands, and ModelsLet’s go back to the cars example. Bidding for the term “cars” will cost you a lot and bring you a great percentage of unqualified visitors. So why not break down the market based on the areas you serve, brands, and models you offer? For example: Honda Accord Chicago, Honda Accord New York, Honda Civic Chicago, Ford Mustang Austin, and so on.

Page Rank Or Traffic: What should we do?

Most of people have lots of confusion with Page Rank and Traffic. We should know what they are.

PR has nothing whatsoever to do with traffic. PR has the same role as your toothpaste in making your site more "prominent".

Your blogs PR depends on the worldwide links pointing to your website. ... it relies on the quality of such links, not necessarily on the abundance nor in how many visits you get to your page.

If the purpose of your Web site is get a high PR, then by all means, go for PR. But if you're looking to make money from your Web site, go for traffic, and lots of it. Visitors spend money, not search engines. Only a percentage of visitors to any site convert to money-spending customers. If that percentage remains constant, it stands to reason that more visitors means more conversions and more conversions means more money. I defy anyone to show me a single instance of a visitor buying a product, any product, online because the site from which they bought the item had a particular PR.

SEO and PR are not the same thing. One has very little, if anything at all, to do with the other. Don't confuse the two or try to connect them.

High PR has nothing to do with Traffic. Most of the people are having High PR but not having quality traffic. I would suggest to focus your efforts on generating quality traffic for higher amount of money. Only that way you can be successful online. This advice is specially for small to medium sized businesses.

Link Building Tactics to Boost Your Traffic

Link Building is very important to get Traffic. It improves Page rank of the blog.

Page Rank is a very important thing for many Advertisers. These are some tips for Link building

Just ask nicely. Simply ask visitors to your site to link to you. And they will, as long as you have an engaging website, with relevant information, a unique view, in other words, if you offer something that not many others do.

Provide a “link to us” page. Make sure it includes stuff like URL(s), logo and an anchor text they can use.

Create interesting lists (ahem!). Write a “101” list or a “Top Ten Tips to...” list. This kind of document becomes an “authority” opinion and will naturally get links.

Offer to be a guest writer. Send an email to a magazine, ezine, blog, or online journal, and let them know you’d be interested in contributing an article to share your valuable expertise.

Offer testimonials. If there is a tool you’ve tested or bought recently, go to their website and see if there is a testimonials section. Write in with your review/opinion and kindly ask them to link back to you.

Get your website listed. Submit it to several directories, but remember that quality matters, so submit it to the good ones.

Submit Your Blog and RSS Feed. Submit to Blog directories and RSS submission sit

Make use of Web 2.0 resources. Use MySpace, Facebook, MSN Spaces, whatever you feel most comfortable with, to promote your site.

Write articles for Hubpages. Submit quality articles, comment on other hubs, post in the forums, and you’ll get a hubscore plus quality links.

Post free ads. Websites like Free Ad Blog and Free Blog Post allow you to post two to three links to your site.

Participate on Blogs. Leave your comments, network with them, email them, link to them, and they’ll surely link back to you.

Make many different Blogs. On sites like Blogger or Wordpress.

Post on forums and groups. Find the largest and the best in your field.

Post in Ebay Blogs. Post your link within your blog, and you can actually say you have a link from Ebay!

Acknowledge the contribution of experts. Write about them, review one of their books or articles, or even compile a list of experts like, “The Five Definitive Experts on...”. There’s a good chance they’ll notice you and link back to you. Interview a guru or get permission from him to post his work, articles, e-book.

Make use of local resources. Get a link from your local chamber of commerce.

Sponsor an event
. These all link to their sponsors.

Offer useful tools. Calculators, conversion, translation tools; they’re naturals for getting lots of links, as people are often in need of good, quality tools.

Promoting Your Site at Google (Page Rank)

To achieve high page rankings in Google can take anywhere from 90 days to 2 years.

Dependent on how much work you are willing to put into it.

One of the best (No $ Cost) ways I have found to promote your website is by writing and posting Information Rich, ARTICLES. Do not try to sell your product, but give to your potential consumers free valuable information. Post a link back to your website in your signature, and in 8-18 months, the seed(s) you have planted in your articles will start trickling then flooding into your website.

I would suggest writing a 3-4 paragraph article about your industry or product every 2 days, also searching Google for a FREE Article Submitter software.

There are Thousands of Article Sites on the internet. This will help you spread out your ... seeds in a larger field. Also providing many back links to your website, which of course will be providing higher Google page ratings, and LASTING SUCCESS!

Also, if you have a good marketing Budget you can always look into Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising such as Google Ad Words, or Yahoo. This can get pricey depending on your Target Audience. However, once you stop your PPC campaign, your leads will dry up as well. I use PPC as a fill the gaps when I am building a new website, and waiting for the (SEEDS) Articles to build a solid back link foundation.

To recap, Writing and Posting Information Rich Articles are a great way to generate lead producing back links to your website. Pay Per Click advertising is another good way to generate short term leads, yet may not be cost effective in the long term.

I hope this information has been helpful.

How To Make Your Blog Popular

Here are some common ways to get traffic to your website:

1. SEO techniques (i.e., linkbuilding, choosing profitable and relevant keywords for your site, etc).
2. Pay per click advertising
3. traffic exchanges (feel free to PM me if you want a full list of traffic exchanges I use). If you go that route, you will want to create a splash page for your website, and plan on spending at least 2 hours a day surfing other peoples' ads and sites for best results (ideally, you should go for 1000 credits per day minimum for optimum results).
4. putting your website url in your signature file in forums like this one and participate. Warning: avoid forums where sig files are not allowed or where linking even to your own website is forbidden. Any other ones is fair game. Myspace has forums that you can participate in, by the way (pretty convenient if you are looking for forums to join).
5. offline promotion. I am actually kicking around this idea myself. You could put up fliers about your website, put ads in the newspaper if you have the money, buy and distribute business cards (vista print, for example offers custom business cards), setting up kiosks at malls or booths at fairs where welcome, putting ads on cars, etc. Also, word of mouth could be your friend among your warm audience (such as showing off your ssites to friends).
6. article marketing (tends to be another popular tactic). Beware: if your article looks more like a sale pitch, it will get rejected, and so you will have to mask your promotion efforts with them.
7. blogging (I use blog spot, but you could also create blogs via myspace, wordpress, etc)
8. Social networking sites- note that you will have to mask your promotion efforts with these sites due to anti-commercial use policies.
9. Including your links in your signature file on the email programs you can use. Also, both hotmail and yahoo have autoresponders that you can set up that includes information about your site.
10. Hiring people to promote your site for you and split your earnings. I have installed a revenue sharing program for 2 of my websites, which aims to encourage my visitors to refer other visitors by offering 30% of the commissions I make from those transactions.

Top Blog Design Tips

Most blog platforms come with some basic blog designs. They may call them templates or themes or something similar, and usually they are not bad although some customisation is pretty common. I often see some common mistakes, and hopefully you will be able to avoid them.

1. Include an about page
Make it prominent and make it truly about you, not some resume-like page.If people find your blog and like what you have to say, they are going to want to know something about you.
2. Have contact information visible
An email or maybe even a phone number should be included. Your email can be displayed as a graphic to prevent spammers from harvesting it easily. I would suggest using an address that has your domain at the end to be more professional.

Visible contact information will make you seem more real and although people may occasionally contact you, it will be far less often than you might think.
3. Include a picture of yourself
Blogs are personal, even business blogs, and people who visit yours will want to know what you look like. It’s also easier to built trust if your picture is visible. Though, you don’t absolutely need a picture, but it’s strongly recommended. Sometimes people might think you are hiding something if you don’t have one.
4. Show a top posts or articles page
Some of your blog posts are going to be much more popular than others (you may be surprised which ones they are). I call these your pillar articlesDon’t bury your pillar articles, your most popular blog posts. Highlight them somehow. You might for example have a top posts section in the titlebar or sidebar.

I have a most top articles section and I list my most popular posts based on the ones that are read the most. Other people do it slightly differently. For example, Brian Clark at copyblogger.com has a “Popular Articles” in his sidebar and under that he lists his most popular blog posts. Yaro Starak, on his blog Entrepreneurs-Journey, calls his most popular blog posts “Popular Articles” and lists them at the very top.Somehow or another highlight them. You might do something as simple as create a category called “most popular” and include popular blog posts in that category.
5. Don’t have a blog banner that is too big!
The banner is the top portion of your blog that goes across the top. It might have a picture of you there, the name of the blog, perhaps some graphic — they vary quite a bit.You don’t want your banner to be big. No one should need to scroll down to see your content. People decide really quickly when they first reach a Web Site, and that includes blogs, whether to read or to leave.
6. Create a visually appealing blog
Avoid bright colors. Stick to reasonable fonts like Times New Roman and Arial. Have someone with a good eye look at your blog, preferably a graphic designer. Everytime I start a blog and I’ve started dozens for myself, for friends, and for clients, I always get a graphic designer to at least look at it after I am done.

The problem is that it might look OK to you or me, probably neither having a particularly good eye nor appropriate training, but it still might look really ugly to others. Having a graphic designer take a quick look at it is good insurance.
7. Keep it simple silly!
Some blogs are just so busy: they have one, two, sometimes three sidebars just crammed full of all kinds of stuff. With some of it you wonder why is it there. What purpose does this serve? Now in my opinion calendars are a prime offender. What good is a calendar there? Some people like them, but to me they serve no purpose.

Empty space in a blog is not only allowable, but it’s a good thing. It helps focus eyes on what is important, which is your content and hopefully the few things you choose to put in your sidebar.

Most blogs start with a basic template which is then customised over time. These tips will hopefully help you that with customisation and help you avoid common mistakes with blog design.

Use Free Promotions For Your Internet Business

In my opinion, the most challenging task about running a successful Internet business is how to effectively market your website with low cost strategies or using free promotions. Here are some guidelines on how to acquire free Internet business promotions for your website to drive more traffic and increase your revenue:

  1. If you have started to promote your Internet business, keep it constant. If you promote your site with persistence, it will catch your audience's attention.
2. Be patient. Try each method in promotion until you acquire the best, free promotion there is. You have to accept trial and error for your Internet business to reach the top.

Free And Effective Promotions To Try
There are many ways for your Internet business to be seen. Here are some free Internet business promotions you could try until you find the most effective.

* Free promotions such as search engines and directories would give your web site the deserved traffic you always wanted. Make a point to check your Internet business ranking to know whether or not this type of free promotion is right for you.
* Make a deal with other Internet business blogs on trading links which could help both web sites.
  * Think about what you've read so far. Does it reinforce what you already know about Internet business Promotion? Or was there something completely new? What about the remaining paragraphs? Make sure to use words that could easily interest the audience.
* Find free classified ads that could boost the promotion of your Internet business. These ads could be seen by other people who you are not targeting for, but may as well be interested in your services.
  * Free and low - cost Internet banners are spread all through out the World Wide Web. Banners that pop up at the top of a page or in a separate window would automatically catch your target audience's attention.

If your Internet business and its free promotion did not work even after accomplishing these methods, analyze your website. Track down all visitors, advertisements, and transactions. Then locate errors in your Internet business blog. Upload new files to your Internet business blog continuously for audience to return for new products and services. Monitor your own Internet business to see if it's up in the market or down.

Then be ready to try the methods again and surely it will work.

Be Careful with The Fastest And Easiest Way To Make Real Money

You've probably seen all the types the Internet has to offer. There are tons of courses and programs that claim to teach you how to make piles of money within a few days, but most of them only burn a deeper hole in your pocket.

People expect to get rich quickly by taking surveys, stuffing envelopes, encoding data, and engaging in other schemes. But many of their income claims are overhyped - they require more time for lesser pay. Joining MLM programs? Sure, if you've got hundreds of friends who hang on to your every word.

If you really want to achieve true financial freedom and make yourself rich (not others), the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way is... to have your very own internet business.

There are so many to choose from, affiliate marketing, freelance writing, drop shipping and many more. You could also go for alternative ways of earning money through the internet like buying products from your local market and selling them on e-bay on a higher price.

Well I can tell you that you have to be very careful and choose wisely.

You also cannot make money overnight and please don't fall for the click your mouse and make money deals.

I can help if you are in touch with me.

I have a good knowledge to analyze any company on the net.

It is a tricky business......making money online. But it is possible with a good mentor.

Please don't buy leads that is a joke as well.

Well I hope this helps you.

Basic Work You need to Do to make a Good Blog

Every one starts blog with lots of hopes, but they don't know what they really should do to make worthy blo

Every blog needs a lot of work before you're going to make anything useful from it (be it from Adsense, selling advertisement, etc.).

1) Need a new layout. You need something that looks at least remotely professional, more bright colors, and a less generic looking Blogger template. Google "blogger templates" and look around at some of those...find one that provides organization, ad space, RSS feed space, and just looks more like a normal site rather than a generic blog.

2) SEO (search engine optimization). Read up on it, research it, apply it. If you want to make money, you need targeted traffic to your site and people that are looking specifically for what's on your site or something similar to your site.

3) Read up on Adsense ad placement (there are books, blogs, and websites devoted to this). Read up on Adsense in general to understand how you're supposed to use it.

4) Build popularity throughout the blogosphere. Promote your blog in legitimate places, comment on other related blogs (sincere comments, not "hey look at my blog!"). Use social networking sites. Look at related blogs and find out what they're doing correct, then take the extra step above them.

5) Post consistently and on interesting subjects. You need the content, or nobody will care.

6)if you want this to be professional looking and want to design a business around it, look for a better blogger template, or better yet, get a wordpress.org hosted blog

Adwords: Asuccess secret

Webmasters try out PPC advertising for their PPC earning campaigns. The way it goes is that they will advertise their websites through Google AdWords. Google will then display their links the way it displays AdSense ads. The webmasters who decide to take this route would then have to pay Google every time a user clicks on the ads that lead to their websites.

How do these webmasters earn, when they're supposed to spend for every click?

Well, most of them build websites that are exclusively made up of AdSense ads. Hence, whenever a user is led to their pages, he'd have no choice but to click on the relevant ads that appear therein.

There are some webmasters, on the other hand, who rely on the strength of their content. They use AdWords to expose their websites to people, hoping that those very users would love what they'll see and they’ll keep coming back every now and then.

There are pros and cons to this strategy, however. Let's take a look at the advantages first.

You will attain guaranteed traffic.

You will attain highly targeted traffic. Since your visitors will be composed of people who are interested with the subject of you website, there is a higher likelihood that they will click on the ads that would appear on your pages.

Google is cracking down on websites that are merely composed of AdSense ad blocks. If you opt to use this approach, and your website is composed exclusively of AdSense ads, chances are, your website would get de-indexed and your AdSense account would get suspended if Google catches you.

The best way to go is to rely on the strength of your website. Prepare unique, premium content and hook your visitors with the same. Content is king in the World Wide Web, after all.

If you decide to use AdWords to get some traffic, make sure you have a mailing list in place to capture their contact details and ensure for yourself some repeat visitors. PPD advertising should only be used to gain initial traffic, until your other marketing strategies would finally produce the desired results.

Disadvantage is if you are failed to convert them into your readers you lose money.

Adsense : Good Idea

Want to earn using Adsense

For lot of webmasters, Google AdSense has become a great income generator. Since the program pays the webmaster every time a visitor of their website clicks on the ads that Google displays in their web pages, the same has become a truly viable and profitable option to earn a living online. As a matter of fact, there are countless webmasters who have dropped their day jobs so that they could focus on the AdSense program.

They build dozens and dozens of websites, all of which carry their AdSense code, hoping to generate amazing earnings from such an approach.

The CPC can be approximated by checking out the going rate of the keyword to be targeted before building a website. The resource that can be found at is an excellent tool to help anyone in formative the probable CPC for certain search words or phrases.

The Click rates  can be improved by arranging the AdSense blocks in a manner that would make them look like organic parts of the website.

Most difficult is the impressing people to achieve.

Page impressions are actually the same to what is generally known as web traffic. Web traffic refers to the volume of users who manages to load up a particular page of your website. It is said that traffic is the blood of any online venture, and this couldn't be truer for websites that earn via Pay Per Click (PPC) programs.

The success of your Google AdSense campaign would depend on the volume of traffic you'll be able to generate for your website, or websites.

You could try a lot of marketing tactics, but often, these strategies take time to gestate. Additionally, each and every competitor of yours would be trying out the same techniques, and there is no real guarantee about how much traffic you could derive from them.

This has led many webmasters to try out PPC advertising for their PPC earning campaigns. The way it goes is that they will advertise their websites through Google AdWords. Google will then display their links the way it displays AdSense ads. The webmasters who decide to take this route would then have to pay Google every time a user clicks on the ads that lead to their websites.

I see AdSense as PPC program that can give you traffic and pennies too. I think using it will be a good idea, if and if your website or blog is already stable and has its own credible traffic. However, if you are just starting out, I think you shouldn't use it as once since there is no guarantee yet that you could run it smoothly and make it stable.

New To Blogs

Somany are new to Blogging and interested to create blogs online, but they are not able to search any best place on net where they can do. Friends these things will definitely help you

You have a choice of two options that you first need to consider:
1) To start a blog new Blog
2) To contribute to an existing blog

1) It'll likely be a long, hard slog before you stand a chance of making any money from it. Long term, if the blog is successful, you of course stand to reap all the rewards of your efforts. But you'll need to be versed not only in how to write content, but also how to set up and run a blog, how to promote it, and so on.
2) You can make an income of some description immediately, but you'll be paid for what you write, and probably that alone, and not necessarily be rewarded in accordance with the blog's overall success.
